It all started with a YouTube Video.

A bunch of college kids sitting around sucking on these little tablets and then jumping up and down while trying lemons, limes and other foods they had all brought. “Oh My God! It’s like candy.” “I’ve never liked sour foods before but I could eat like this all day!” I watched in amusement as these kids started tearing apart their dorm room trying to find old foods that tasted completely new. I had to know what this was.

A few minutes spent on Google later I had purchased my first package of Miracle Frooties which would be at my door in a few days.  I couldn’t wait!

Unfortunately the package was delayed and didn’t arrive before my family vacation to Vegas.  I had almost forgotten about them until I we came back home and I saw the package in my mailbox.  I opened them immediately and decided with my family here it was the perfect time to throw a miracle fruit tasting party of my own.  I wish I had taped what happened next.

My family would be harder to impress than a bunch of students but the Miracle Frooties did the trick.  We started off slowly; first cutting up some lemons and limes we had around the house.  It was amazing.  The fruit tasted delicious like it had been covered in sugar.  My uncle and I looked at each other and headed off to raid the pantry and fridge.  I don’t remember everything we tried that night but I know that at the end of it our dining room was littered with open wrappers and empty bottles.  (The last thing we did were vinegar shots! They tasted like syrup but still burnt going down!!)

I was hooked.  These were amazing and I needed to share them.  A few weeks later The WonderBerry Shop was born and I’ve been helping people have their own miracle fruit tasting parties ever since.

How To Have Your Own Miracle Fruit Tasting Party

It’s real simple and i’ll lay it all out for you right here!

  • Figure out how many people you want to invite. Large tasting parties can be fun but if you are just starting out I’d limit it to about six or seven people at the most.
  • Order Enough Miracle Frooties for everyone. Easiest place to get them is right here at the shop. The miracle fruit effects last between 15 minutes and two hours and vary between different people.  If you are going to try a lot of different foods (especially liquids or anything with alcohol) you may want to have extras on hand in case the effects wear off.  Two regular sized tablets or one large one broken in half should be enough per person.
  • Pick a date. Send your invitations and ask each person to bring a different food. You should provide lemons and limes but everything else is up to your guests.  You can have them be creative or take a look at the Recommended Food List and tell each person what to bring.  Sour and bitter foods work the best.  Fruity drinks are great too.  My personal favorite is of course strawberries.  They are amazing!
  • Throw an awesome tasting party. I would recommend video recording everyone’s reactions.  I really wish I had done this on mine.  Start off slowly with the lemons and limes.  In my experience the key to have an awesome miracle fruit tasting party is to have everyone try the same food at the same time and describe it.
